Decline Scheduled Follow Up Without Changing Status

There are times where a call or activity is scheduled but it doesn't make sense to attempt the activity. For example, a customer could have stopped in yesterday, and was assigned a "Daily" status. However, they said they would be at a funeral for two days and to call them in 3 days. It would be nice for the person who was assigned the activity to be able select a result such as "Did not attempt" or something like that without giving them access to mark all things in their workplan "Done" or changing their status to something else that doesn't meet the follow up needs. Then, if desired, that could alert a manager that follow up was declined for them to review it.
